Winter is coming! With that, there is always the possibility of school closing due to weather. School dismissal will be announced a variety of ways: via television channels 2, 6, 8 and 23 in Tulsa; by radio; by our district Smartphone App (you can find download info for this from our district website—look under the Parents link at top of page); via a phone call or text from School Messenger; by Facebook and finally by Twitter.
OU Math Day was Thursday, November 14th and we were able to take 43 students to Norman to compete. Math Day is a competition between many schools throughout Oklahoma. In the Math Bowl, students form teams of 4 and complete math problems in as little as 3 minutes! Groups scoring exceptionally well advance to the next round. This year we had one team advance, they are Hunter Ray, Tyler Schultz, Will Schulte, and Brandon Wiley. We are so proud of all of the students that went for giving it their all, and especially proud of our boys that advanced. Attached are a few pictures of the event. Big thanks to Coach Factor, Megan Pettey, and Amy Ford for helping make this trip possible!
The Skiatook High School November Teacher of the Month is Vance Miller. Coach Miller has seen incredible results with his students and football program. Congratulations on a great season and for showing all of us how to motivate, inspire, and remain positive through victory and adversity. He is pictured here with some of our senior varsity players.
Marrs Elementary is going to experiment with another way of keeping you updated. We are going to text and/or email our daily menus. Here is how it will work. Every evening at 7:00 you will get an email or a text letting you know what we are having for breakfast or lunch the next day. You may sign up for an email, a text or both; plus you can choose between only getting breakfast, lunch or both updates.
**PLEASE remember that all menus are subject to change.**
If you would like to participate please complete the below form and send it to school.
