The
Dr. Gary Johnson Activity Center is nearing completion.
The Skiatook School Board voted in August to name this
facility after its visionary, Dr Gary Johnson.. This 103,000
square foot facility will benefit both school and community
events. When completed the arena will contain permanent
seating for 4,500 with capacity set at 6,000. Amenities
include a fitness center and cardio exercise room, a 1/8th
mile walking track, training room, large aerobics room,
wrestling practice facility, numerous dressing rooms and
office, concession and hospitality facilities, and
restrooms. While there are still items left for completion,
the 2007 senior class had the medal of being the first and
only graduating class of the Skiatook Multi-purpose Activity
Center. The 2008 graduation class, will have the honor
of being the first class to graduate from the Dr. Gary
Johnson Activity Center. The district looks forward to
this facility serving the school and the community for years
to come.
