SKIATOOK INTERMEDIATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FEDERAL PROGRAMS Title IA-Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged Targeted School Programs provided to reach all children: Compass Learning Lab After school tutoring Title IIA-Improving Teacher and Principal Quality Provides professional development of teachers and administrators to maintain high quality Title IVA-Safe and Drug Free Schools Red Ribbon Week Character Education Counseling School Resource Officers Gifted and Talented Enrichment activities given through library, compass lab, and classroom, Fine arts class, SEARCH program for gifted and talented. Special Services-Skiatook Public Schools offer a free education to all children from 3-21 years old. These programs are designed to serve those who are handicapped in any of the following categories: autism, deaf-blindness, deafness or hearing impairment, developmental delays, emotional disturbance, mental retardation, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairments, other health impairments, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, and visual impairment. Wellness Policy Skiatook Public Schools is committed to providing an environment that promotes students learning, establishing, and maintaining lifelong healthy eating and activity patterns. Well-planned and effectively implemented school nutrition and fitness programs have been shown to enhance students’ overall health, as well as their behavior and academic achievement in school. Staff wellness also is an integral part of a healthy school environment since school staff can be daily role models for healthy behaviors. SIE provides P.E., health classes and recess.
