About Our Staff

Marrs Elementary is focused on “Helping all students to succeed.”  Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.  Also, we strive to provide an atmosphere that encourages children to want to learn and be eager to come to school.  We want to meet the needs of all students so that they can become successful, productive citizens, and we want to provide experiences that will make students think, reason and be creative.

Marrs Elementary is led by Mrs. Joyce Jech, a 39-year veteran of education in Skiatook.  Mrs. Jech supervises 85 certified and non-certified staff.  Assistant Principal and Federal Programs Director Amy Moyer will be helping out with both Marrs and ECC.  There are eight classes in kindergarten and first grade, nine classes in second grade, plus a Developmental First Grade class, a Transitional Second Grade class, and Special Education classes.  Each Kindergarten through T-2 class has a certified teacher, and a full-day assistant teacher.  Second grade has a certified teacher and a half-day assistant teacher.  Full-day assistant teachers also serve in the computer lab, library and Special Education classes. Counseling, Music and Physical Education are also offered to all students. Skiatook Public Schools provides two registered nurses and two school resource officers for the health and safety of the students of the district, and Title I funding provides additional resources in reading and mathematics for all students.
