Re: Charges in the Cafeteria
Beginning Tuesday May 1, 2012, students will NOT be allowed to charge for breakfast or lunch meals. Students who have a negative balance will be offered a cheese sandwich and milk. All charges must be paid in full before the last day of school. Your cooperation and immediate attention to your child/children account would be greatly appreciated.
Please notify your child’s school cafeteria manager if you have further questions.

Fifth Grade letter To Parents (PDF Format)

Parent/Guardian of 5th Graders,
This letter is to inform you that your child/children meal options are going to change next year as they enter the 6th grade. Your child/children will have several food or meal options to choose from. Choices include the Main line, pre-made Chef Salad, and Ala Carte line- consisting of single or basket food items, bottled water, whole fruit, milk, yogurt, ice cream, baked chips, healthy snacks, etc. Should they choose to purchase a meal from the Main line it will include a Main Entrée, Vegetable, Fruit, Bread, and Milk. Breakfast is $1.60 and lunch is $2.10. Reduced Price breakfast is $.30 and lunch is $.40. Additional purchases from the Main Line are available upon request at an additional price. For those families participating in the Free and Reduced Meal Program, please make note that this applies only to the FIRST MEAL PURCHASED ON THE MAIN CAFTERIA LINE, extra meals and/or additional items will be charged to your child/children’s account AT FULL PRICE.
Your child/children must have a POSITIVE balance in their account to purchase Ala Carte items. Cash transactions will NOT be allowed, during serving times on the Main Line and Ala Carte Line. NO CHARGES WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE ALA CARTE LINE.
Parent/Guardians are encouraged to prepay on their child/children accounts. Online access is available in which to credit or monitor your child/children accounts at EZSchoolPay.com. Parent/Guardians may request a transaction history of their child/children accounts or block their child/children from purchasing Ala Carte items by contacting the Cafeteria Manager. The District allows your child/children to charge (3) meals. Low and/or Negative balance notices will be sent home weekly through your child or through School Messenger. Having an email address provided in your child/children’s personal information has proven to be successful in notifying parents of negative or low balance accounts. Please notify the Newman Middle School Cafeteria Manager, Cindy Womack, at 396-2307 x108, if you have any questions concerning your child/children’s accounts.
