Amy graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts double degree in painting and k-12 art education in 1992. She started her career in the fall of 1992 teaching Jr. High/High school art at Pawnee Public Schools. In 1994 her husband and she moved to Bartlesville where she taught elementary art at Ranch Heights Elementary School and she received her English Endorsement from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. In 2001, Amy and her family moved to Skiatook, her husbands home town where she taught Language Arts and Fine Art classes, and became the language arts department chair. She was chosen as the District Teacher of the Year in 2008. Amy received her Masters degree in Administration from Northeastern State University. She spent one year as an elementary assistant principal, two years as a middle school assistant principal and is in her fourth year as Director of Federal Programs
The goal for Curriculum this year is to plan and map, using Curriculum Mapper, what is taught in the classrooms based on P.A.S.S.(Priority Academic Student Skills) provided by the State Department, and incorporate into those maps the new Common Core Standards being adopted across the nation. Results from common assessments and benchmark exams will provide the data needed to track students progress and to monitor their successes. Assessments used by the sites come from Edusoft, USAtestprep, STAR Reading, STAR Math, DIBELS, Study Island, Education City, Reading Plus, the EXPLORE, PSAT, and/or the PLAN tests.
