Professional Development is the basis of teacher learning. In order to stay up to date on best practices in instruction and technology, the district utilizes PD360.com as well as a membership in Tulsa Tech’s 8th floor. We track pd sessions with Mylearningplan .com. Five days every year are scheduled for district professional development days, and other additional trainings may be scheduled. District Professional Development focus is on Standards Based Instruction, Instructional Strategies, Using Data, Assessment, and Professional Learning Communities.
This year the major Elementary focus is on Literacy First training k-5th grades. This involves a phase I 5 day training with 2 consultant days. Marrs Elementary is also focusing on Differentiated Instruction. Skiatook Intermediate is focusing on Equity & Achievement Gaps as well as Professional Learning Communities.
The middle school is focusing on Student Engagement, Math strategies, Differentiated Instruction and Classroom Management. The High School is focusing on Motivation and Cassroom Management.
