Skiatook Public School District believes that early childhood education is the foundation of a child's education. Our goal is to provide our students with a healthy and happy school experience in a safe environment.
The school system provides a daycare for staff and students. It is a 2 star program that is currently working on become a 3 star program. Our director is Shannon Nichols who is very energetic and organized and LOVES working with our precious children.
Learning activities in early childhood involve both work and play. Children develop imagination and social skills in pretend-play activities. Basic concepts in health, language, math, reading readiness, science, and social studies are taught through developmentally appropriate weekly units.
The Early Childhood Center also houses OPAT (Oklahoma Parents As Teachers). This program is for 0-3 year olds and is a yearly grant from the state department. It is a home-based program that also includes monthly group meetings. If you are interested in information about OPAT, please contact Rebekah Perigo at 396-5730.
