To Seniors (and Senior Parents):
Here is a schedule of events for your last few weeks of school:
Senior Celebration Meetings first Monday, 6:30 at the middle school.
April 16 -May 17 EOIs: Seniors will need to complete any EOIs not taken in previous years.
April 20: Wilted Rose Rehearsal at 4:00 p.m. in high school auditorium.
April 21: Wilted Rose Pageant and Dessert Auction at 7:00 p.m. in high school commons area
April 30: Senior Tea (for senior girls and their moms) at First Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Dress should be church appropriate: dress, skirt, slacks. No “club” dresses!
TBA: Father/son cook-out at the Church of Christ at 6:30 p.m.
May 1: Sr. Assembly Practice after school.
May 3: Senior Assembly Practice during 3rd hour.
May 3: Sr. Assembly in Commons area. Dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Assembly at 7:00 p.m. Dinner tickets will be sold prior to the event. Price will be announced later.
May 4: NO SCHOOL
May 11: NO SCHOOL
May 16: High School Awards Assembly: 8:00 a.m. Awards presented from all classes, activities, etc. in Auditorium
May 16: Athletic Awards: Seniors will be presented with a variety of awards at 2:00 p.m.
May 17: Review for finals (seniors only): Most teachers will be reviewing the seniors for their finals.
May 17: Baccalaureate practice at 10:00 a.m. at the activity center.
May 18: NO SCHOOL
May 20: Baccalaureate 3:00 at the Activity Center. Be there at 2:30 p.m. This is one of the last times seniors will be together so try to be there!
May 21: Senior Finals all day. Finals will be given during regular class time. If you are exempt from all finals, you can be gone that day. If you have any finals at all, you may come to school at the time of your first final and leave after the period in which you take your last final. You must remain in class even for the classes in which you have NO final so take something to work on. You may leave after you have completed your last final and checked out through the attendance office. Make sure you turn in your exemption form at that time.
Spring Semester Test Exemption forms will be made available for seniors beginning, Monday, May 14, 2012. They will obtain grades, signatures and return to attendance office beginning Tuesday, May 15, 2012 and no later than 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2012. A list of seniors who are exempt from finals will be emailed to teachers Wednesday afternoon. Senior finals will be on Monday, May 21, 2012.
May 22: Foundation Awards at 6:30 in Activity Center: Seniors (and all students) who are on
any honor roll as well as Salutatorian and Valedictorian awards will be presented.
May 22: Turkey Challenge Winners: Seniors will be out all day for winning the Turkey Challenge. They will meet at the City Park for hotdogs and games. If you have any questions see Mr. Gregory or Mrs. Osborn.
May 23: Graduation Practice #1: Practice is mandatory for all seniors. Any senior who does not attend practice will not be able to walk across the stage graduation night!
Seniors will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Activity Center. On this day, we will get a general idea of what needs to be done during each aspect of the ceremony, iron out details, and practice marching. Parents are not allowed at either practice. Lunch will be provided on this day. We will release you not later than 2:50 p.m.
May 24: Senior Breakfast at Lakeview Baptist Church from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. Parents, teachers, sponsors and administrators are invited as well.
May 24: Graduation Practice #2: Meet at the activity center and wear your caps and gowns. We will be taking a senior group picture starting promptly at 9:30 a.m. After the picture, we will practice the graduation ceremonies again. Seniors will not be released until all aspects of the ceremony have been perfected. Seniors will more than likely be dismissed prior to 2:50 so they can get ready for the evening ceremonies. They will not be allowed in the main building of the high school.
At the graduation ceremonies: Seniors will need to be there at 5:30. Enter through the east doors. The doors will be open for everyone else at 6:15. Parents will not be allowed in the activity center until that time. Parents will need to be prompt in arriving and being seated. Once the ceremonies have started the front and side areas will be roped off and no one will be allowed to be seated until after the seniors have been seated on the floor.
Everyone will be checked for the proper dress that night. If a student has a problem meeting any of the dress requirements, he/she should contact the principal or assistant principal for assistance as soon as possible.
Graduation Commencement Dress Code
Male:
- Dark slacks, socks, and dress shoes. Any color dress shirt and tie. (No tennis shoes)
Female:
- A dress, skirt, or dress slacks and dress shoes. (No tennis shoes)
Both:
- NO jeans.
- NO shorts.
- School-approved cap and gown (nothing can be done to alter cap in any way)
- NO accessories must may be added except the school approved medallion and honor stoles, if eligible.
- NO GUM
A senior in violation of the dress code will be removed and not allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Any senior owing a debt to the school will not be allowed to walk. All debts must be cleared by the time we practice graduation.
May 24: Graduation ceremony starts promptly at 7:00 p.m.
May 24: Senior Celebration is an event sponsored by the parents of seniors to keep them safe the night of graduation. It will begin at 11:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 a.m. in the commons area of the high school. See enclosed letter for rules and details.
A PICTURE OF THE GRADUATING SENIOR RECEIVING HIS/HER DIPLOMA AND A GRADUATION VIDEO WILL BE AVAILABLE. (See enclosed order forms)
June 11: Diplomas may be picked up in the main office of the high school Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. from June 11 through July 26.

SENIOR CELEBRATION RULES
- Only Skiatook Graduating Seniors may attend.
- Seniors may arrive anytime between 11:30 pm-1:30 am
- Seniors will check-in upon arrival, give parent or guardian phone #, will leave their
car keys @ the check-in table & will receive a numbered wrist band for keeping track
of prizes & money.
- Seniors checking in by 1:00 am will receive 2 tickets (1 for Small Drawings to be drawn throughout the night & 1 for Grand Prize Drawings to be drawn at the end of the night) MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN DRAWINGS
- Seniors arriving after 1:00 am are welcome to come but will not receive the extra 2 tickets for early admittance. However, no one is admitted after 1:30am.
- Everyone attending will receive a FREE t-shirt BUT YOU MUST PREORDER ONE WITH THE ATTACHED FORM (NO preorder, NO t-shirt)
- Seniors may leave at any time during the celebration, but will not be allowed to return. Prior to leaving, the senior’s parent or guardian will be contacted by telephone & told “Your senior has left the Senior Celebration”. This is not meant as a punitive measure but rather a preventative one, so parents will know where their seniors are on graduation night. When you leave all your remaining tickets become invalid. They may NOT be passed on to someone else.
- Seniors have an opportunity to win cash & prizes all night long in addition to the fun activities, good music, & good food!!!
- Seniors who worked this year or their parents worked for them have extra tickets they have earned. After everyone has checked in, we will announce when you need to come & receive these tickets to put in the hopper for the Grand Prize Drawings.
Small Prizes are items under $100.00 Grand Prize Drawings are over $100.00
Entertainment: DJ, Hypnotist, Inflatables, Giant Trikes, Ping Pong, Card Games, Money Machine, and much more.
