Red Ribbon Dress Up Days
October 28th - November 1st

SHS Marching Band Highlights from Mr. Stotz. Congratulations on your accomplishments so far! Come watch the marching band perform at our last home football game this evening!!
📣 The band went to an early contest this year in Carl Junction, MO and received 2nd in their class and 8th overall in finals against some very large Kansas City area bands.
📣 We were 3rd overall at the Bixby Tournament of Bands this year! We were second in class 4A there as well.
📣 At the Oklahoma Bandmasters’ State Marching competition we were 5th overall in the state for marching band in class 4A. We are very proud to be in the top 6 in the state of Oklahoma for the past 3 years!
📣 We capped off the season with straight superior ratings at OSSAA last week. This sets us up for a sweepstakes run the rest of the year.

SHS recently hosted nearly 50 colleges, business leaders, military recruiters and student service representatives at our annual College and Career Fair. We appreciate all of the participants.

James Seratte, Lucas Trego, Dalton Vice, Kyle George, and Addisyn Miller participated in the first virtual debate tournament for the season on Oct 17. They presented their Pro Con Challenge arguments and were judged alongside students from across America. The online series is sponsored by the National Speech & Debate Association and the Julia Burke Foundation. Students will be traveling to a live contest at Broken Arrow on Nov 1-2. The team is still seeking volunteer judges to help cover entry costs.

9th, 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the PreACT/ACT on Tuesday, October 29th. They will report to their testing rooms at 8 am. They can bring a calculator to use on the math portion of the test. Students will not be able to get checked out of school during testing times.

Pep Assembly Tomorrow! Don't forget to wear RED!!!📣

Congratulations to our Skiatook FFA Chapter for their great work at the Tulsa State Fair!

Another successful Literacy Night!
Students sampled several books, enjoyed snacks, created their own bookmarks, plus students got to choose a brand new book to take home!
All of this wouldn't be possible without the preparation and planning of our library team and ELA team.
Thank you staff for planning another great Literacy Night, and thank you to all who attended!

On October 10, Skiatook HS took 12 young ladies ranging from 9-12 grades to Girls Talk Tech held at the Bartlesville Campus of ConocoPhillips. GTT was formalized in 2018 with the mission to educate, encourage and empower young women to embrace technology for the future based on the statistics that only 27% of women are in IT roles. Our young ladies attended breakout groups covering cybersecurity, application development, data analytics, automation, and application support. They took a tour of the ConocoPhillips campus as well as engaged in resume writing and learned about their student internships.

Our Pride of Skiatook Band is headed to state competition on Saturday. They have been working so hard since July and we know they will represent us well! Good luck!

FACS classes are working hard to make sewing template worksheets for some local pre-school and Kindergarten classes. The worksheets will soon go out to the elementary students, and they will be able to design and create their own monsters. Once the FACS classes get the monsters back they will sew a plush monster identical to the one the students designed!

Mr. Johnston's Botany class has been busy! They have completed campus beautification projects, constructed compost bins, and created a worm composter. Our students are enjoying the hands on projects!

FCCLA hosted another successful blood drive yesterday. They had 50 participants and 35 successful donations. Thank you to all that participated.

Congratulations to Kiera Pshogoda, Mason Wilkinson and Alex Harper! They auditioned and were selected for the All District Honor Choir.🎶
