Check out this amazing experiment from Mrs. Irving’s chemistry class!🔬🔥 The students explored combustion by adding natural gas to a beaker of soapy water to create bubbles. They then collected these gas-filled bubbles in their hands (covered in soapy water!) and lit them on fire. The flames ignite the gas inside the foam, releasing heat—but here’s the cool part: the heat is absorbed by the water on their hands, preventing any burns! It’s a safe, fiery demonstration of chemistry in action.

Did you know OSU-IT is the number two most affordable college in the US for STEM? Did you also know they require no minimum GPA or ACT score to be admitted? Students who visited the OSU-IT Okmulgee campus on December 5th learned all of this and more thanks to our partnership with GEAR Up, who sponsored the post-secondary field trip. Since the visit, we have already had multiple students apply! We are so excited for our Bulldogs and their future!

Skiatook High School Drama & Debate received a $5,000 grant from the National Speech & Debate Association. The grant is part of the Keith West Memorial Fund set up by the family of a former debate coach. Skiatook was selected from over 200 applicants nationwide based on the extreme financial need to support a team achieving performance success. The money can be used for entry fees, judging fees, and team meals. The team needs matching donations to make the most of the money. If you can help please contact Coach Keith Denslow at the high school at kdenslow@skiatookschools.org https://youtu.be/gonssVujqPo?t=165
