🍎✨ Terrific Teacher Tuesday ✨🍎 This week we are thrilled to celebrate Mrs. Overton, our Site Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Overton teaches 4th grade math and is in her 33rd year of teaching—with an incredible 27 years dedicated to Skiatook. She is a true example of what it means to love what you do and pour your heart into students. Mrs. Overton is an amazing mentor to new teachers, always willing to share her wisdom, encouragement, and support. At the same time, she never stops growing—she’s always up for a challenge and eager to try new teaching techniques to better serve her students. Her classroom is more than just a place to learn math; it’s a family. She has created a welcoming, supportive environment where students feel valued, challenged, and confident. Her passion for math and for kids shines through every single day. We are so grateful for Mrs. Overton and the lasting impact she continues to make on our students, staff, and school community. 💙📐 👏 Thank you, Mrs. Overton, for being truly terrific! 👏

Our 4th grade Christmas program was absolutely beautiful, and it was all thanks to her dedication, talent, and countless hours of preparation. She works so hard to prepare our students, build their confidence, and help them shine on stage! We are so thankful for the passion and creativity she brings to our music program. She does amazing things for our students and our school, and we are incredibly lucky to have her! Thank you for making music such a meaningful and joyful part of our school! 🎄✨

Our district prioritizes student and staff safety when monitoring winter weather. The decision to close school or transition to a virtual learning day is a multi-faceted process that involves monitoring weather forecasts, assessing local conditions, and coordinating with local authorities. We had some wonderful visitors yesterday who helped fill our school with holiday cheer! 🎶✨ Students walked in to festive music and jolly decorations that now line our halls. Our building feels so warm and joyful thanks to them!

A big thank you to everyone who donated and helped make our annual Turkey Challenge a huge success! Your generosity will make a difference for many families in our community this Thanksgiving. 💛

🥈 2nd Place: Mrs. Dunkle’s class – 98.14 points per student
🥉 3rd Place: Mrs. Kelley’s class – 60.47 points per student

The Turkey Challenge is officially underway, and the competition is already heating up! 🔥 Every can counts toward helping families right here in our community — and our halls are filling up fast with donations.

Right now, Mrs. Dunkle’s homeroom is in the lead with an impressive 11 points per student! 🏆 But it’s still anyone’s game — there’s plenty of time to catch up!

Keep those cans rolling in until November 19 at 10 a.m., when we’ll crown the Ultimate Turkey Challenge Champion! Let’s show just how big-hearted (and competitive!) our school can be! ❤️🥫
