Mrs. Goodwin's ELA classes participated in a “speed dating” format Christmas Break question swap. Students rotated around asking and answering questions with all of their peers. It gave students an opportunity to talk about their break and reconnect with their peers while working on speaking and listening skills.

Ms. Steffens 7th grade ELA classes finished the novel, Freak the Mighty and they completed "Matchbook" projects which consisted of summarizing and main idea concepts. One of the themes for this novel is about the power of friendship. The novel emphasizes not judging people based on their outward appearance. It's also about overcoming obstacles in life.
Her 6th grade ELA class finished the novel, Holes and they completed group "Body Biography" projects over it. The project taught concepts such as character traits, symbolism etc. A couple of lessons from the novel deals with the importance of friendship and the consequences of choice

In Mrs. Freeny's Spanish class, they've been learning about the history and cultural significance of the poinsettia. As part of the lesson, students read The Legend of the Poinsettia, a beautiful story that connects language, tradition, and the holiday season.
To wrap up the activity, students are getting creative by making their own poinsettia ornaments, bringing the story to life while practicing Spanish vocabulary and celebrating cultural traditions. It’s been a fun and festive way to learn!

The past two days in Mrs. Henderson's 8th Grade Science were full of energy and excitement as students reviewed for their semester test by playing Grudge Ball! 🎯
This interactive game kept everyone engaged while reinforcing key science concepts they've learned this semester. Students worked together, thought critically, and showed great sportsmanship—all while having fun and building confidence for their upcoming test.

Bulldog Families,
We are approaching winter break and moving further into the winter season, which may or may not bring inclement weather! Our district prioritizes student and staff safety when monitoring winter weather. The decision to close school or transition to a virtual learning day is a multi-faceted process that involves monitoring weather forecasts, assessing local conditions, and coordinating with local authorities. Please read our Decision-Making Process!
We hope all of our students and staff have a great week leading into winter break!

Girls basketball spent some time decorate the 4th grade hallways, bringing extra color, excitement, and holiday spirit to the school.
It was amazing to see our athletes step up—not just on the court, but for other Bulldogs! We’re proud of their teamwork, leadership, and willingness to give back.

Ms. Steffens has three essay winners! They did an outstanding job on their papers. The writing prompt was "How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?" After going over directions, an outline, rubric requirements and teaching MLA format, they created a well written 5 paragraph essay. They were honored and awarded checks during the assembly last week. Congratulations to these students!!!

Ms. Steffens 6th grade students in Creative Writing are enjoying making Christmas cards for the nursing home! 🎄🧑🎄🎁

Mrs. Goodwin’s ELA classes reviewed Principal Parts of Verbs with a fun relay race instead of a traditional worksheet. The pressure to fill in the blanks quickly (with good penmanship and correct spelling) proved challenging for some, but everyone had a good time!

Zooming closer to Winter Break! Kicking off the week with wearing your craziest Christmas socks 🧦

Recently students reviewed figurative language in a library lesson with Mrs. Garrett. Then they worked together in groups to complete a Question Trail answering questions centered around different types of figurative language.
Mrs. Garrett works hard to create a fun space in the library and it pays off!
