The Information Technology Department oversees all aspects relating to technology in the District, including computers, software, networking, and planning. The department answers employee computer questions and remedies problems either in person or through remote network connections. The department also works closely with the the school sites and department heads & directors to maintain the web site.

Staff

Information Technology staff includes the Director of Technology and 2 Computer Technicians that support the individual school sites.

Network

Skiatook’s LAN (Local Area Network) runs on 100/1000 MB Ethernet connections. The district’s 10 GB point to point WAN (Wide Area Network) connects each school site with fiber optic cabling.  All site internal network closets are connected via 10 GB fiber connections.  In addition, the district has a Wi-Fi network, consisting of 280 managed access points across every school site. The Wi-Fi is available for student, faculty, staff & guest usage.

Multimedia

Skiatook Public Schools has interactive computer whiteboards in all classrooms.  We also offer Safari Montage video streaming, both internally and externally.

Standards

The district provides the latest models of Dell computers for the teacher, staff and student use.  We use HP Chromebooks for faculty and staff as well.

Computer and Internet Use Agreements

Information Technology requires an Internet and computer use agreement be signed by students, their parents and employees. It reminds everyone the importance of prudent Internet use.

Privacy on the Internet

The district assumes responsibility for the information provided on skiatookschools.org only. Though links provided through this site are monitored, the district cannot assume responsibility for content on those sites, as information changes rapidly.

Skiatook Public Schools encourages all parents and guardians to take seriously the responsibility of safeguarding children's privacy and safety when using the Internet. To learn more about protecting your family, visit Safe Kids.

Technology Four Year Plan

Information Technology works to continuously improve the technology and to provide the latest equipment and software to students and staff for teaching.
